Cross-cultural Language and Communication I & II　（異文化コミュニケーションI & II）~ Undergraduate Subjects: 学部科目

Students in this class will learn about how and why different cultures communicate differently, and what areas of life differ significantly in differ countries and cultures. We will also look at how cultures are similar, and how to overcome cross-cultural differences. Students will have opportunities to learn about countries and cultures that they are interested in.
この授業では、それぞれの文化がなぜ異なる方法でコミュニケーションをとるのか、そして、国や文化によって生活のどの面が大きく異なるのかについて学びます。また、文化の類似点と、異文化間の違いをどのように乗り越えるかについて考えていきます。自身が関心のある国や文化についても学びます。

Cross-cultural Psychology I and II ~Undergraduate Subjects: 学部科目

These seminar classes are taught in English. Cross-cultural psychology looks at how culture affects human values, thinking and behaviour. Students will have the opportunity to compare thinking and behavior in different countries and cultures, and to think deeply about their own cultural behaviours.
この授業は英語による授業です。異文化間心理学では、文化がどのように、価値、考え、行動に影響を及ぼすのかを考察します。異なる国や文化における考え方や行動を比較し、また、自分自身の文化的行動についても深く学びます。

English Discussion and Debate I & II （英語討論技法I & II）~ Undergraduate Subjects: 学部科目

Students in this class will work on developing their discussion ability and speaking confidence in English in the first semester. In the second semester, students will take part in formal debating in English, through which they will learn research skills, critical thinking and argumentation.
前期は、英語でのディスカッション能力の向上と自信をもって英語で話せるようになることを目指します。後期は、英語によるフォーマルな討論を行い、その過程で調査の技法、批判的思考力、議論の方法も身につけます。

Futures Studies I and II ~ Undergraduate Subjects: 学部科目

In this interdisciplinary course, students explore possible and preferable futures from personal, local, and global perspectives. This exploration occurs through discussions on emerging knowledge and social as well as technological changes and developments. The course centers around the notion that 'change is the new normal' in our world and encourages embracing change as a central aspect of approaching the future. Additionally, students have the opportunity to conduct research in specific areas of development that interest them.

望ましい未来を探求します。この探求は、新しい知識や社会的および技術的な変化と発展についての議論を通して行われます。この授業では「変化が新しい常態」であるという概念を中心に据え、未来に向けた取り組みにおいて、変化を前向きに受け入れる姿勢を身につけます。さらに、自身が興味を持つ特定の分野での研究も行います。

Cross-cultural Psychology and Communication I and II （異文化間心理学とコミュニケーションI・II）~ Graduate Subjects: 大学院授業科目

Cross-cultural psychology looks at how culture affects human thinking and behaviour. This in turn impacts how we communicate. In an increasingly globalized society, understanding these differences in thought, behaviour and communication has become a much more pressing need. The syllabus for this course is adjusted each year, depending on the research interests and backgrounds of the students enrolled.
異文化心理学では、文化がどのように人々の考えや行動に影響を及ぼすかについて考えます。それはコミュニケーションの仕方にも影響を及ぼします。グローバル化が進む現代社会では、考え方、行動、コミュニケーションにおける違いを理解する必要性が高まっています。受講生の関心や研究の進捗状況にもとづいて、この授業は展開されます。

My research centres around learning. I have worked with students in the areas of language education, higher education, pedagogy, cognition and emotion and in learning, the impact of culture on learning, and teaching and learning across academic disciplines. I am delighted to work with researchers on exploratory research and the future of education!

私の主な研究は「Learning」です。言語教育、高等教育、教育学、認知、文化の影響等、学際的な研究を行う学生たちを指導しています。共に学び、共に教育の未来について語り合うのを楽しみにしています。
